I'm so excited to be in a position to offer 2 scholarships to Tracee Stanley's July Workshop. I'm even happier to know that some folks have offered to match this gift, and I think we will be able to support 4 BIPOC entrepreneurs in taking this course. It will help them align their teachings with Spirit and create deep, lasting impact. If you'd like to support, venmo @restinpoweryogareiki with the subject line: scholarship for Tracee's workshop. The workshop is offered on a sliding scale from $50-175 and any amount is appreciated.
I don't have much money. My business just barely started to break even, and even so I'm not yet making enough to sustain myself from my business alone. I am privileged enough to have a family home to stay in while I rent out my apartment so that I can dive deep into entrepreneurship and remain stable while I journey toward flourising. I have been gifted scholarships before, and I know viscerally how powerful it is when someone invests in you, especially when someone you don't even know decides you are so inherently valuable that you should be elevated in your work.
THE HOW + WHEN
Folks entered for a scholarship via this post on instagram, from June 11-14th, 2020, and they tagged two other BIPOC entrepreneurs to help us create a growing list of folks to support, and then they added their proudest business moment of the year. This felt critical as BIPOC's victories are not amplified as loudly in public spaces (physical or virtual) as their tragedies. Read below for some of the dope things BIPOC entrepreneurs have accomplished in 2020 despite a global pandemic and national uprisings!
"proudest moment taking steps toward creating yoga trauma fundamentals."
"proudest business moment was launching my blog series on Reclaiming our Power in regards to birth and getting my first client."
"proudest moment is creating the moon circle out of a place of feeling lack of support from other women and creating a space for women to feel held."
"Proudest business moment so far would be refining my workshop offerings, and creating a monthly series called Cultivate. We were rocking at The Tree pre-rona, and I hope to resume it as soon as safely possible."
"Proud moment of transitioning from studio classes to online classes with ease & agility!!!"
"My proudest business moment so far was when I made progress on building my astrology course."
"my proudest business decision/action this year was investing in myself by taking The Integrative Healing Training hosted by @millanasnow"
